Verizon Won’t be Getting the Nexus One

We have a bit of sad news for those Verizon customers anxiously awaiting the Nexus One.  It looks like Google won’t be releasing the device on Verizon anytime soon.  This is according to a recent post on Google’s official Nexus One blog.  Instead Google recommends Verizon customers check out the newly released Droid Incredible by HTC.

This news isn’t too surprising considering all the rumors we heard of Verizon rejecting the popular Android phone.  AndroidCentral suggests this is because of the Nexus One trackball which could very much be the case.  Consider this, last summer Verizon had to deal with the huge BlackBerry Tour trackball fiasco so that might have had some sort of influence on Nexus One.

Despite the bad news Vodafone customers should be happy.  They have begun to accept pre-orders for the Nexus One in the United Kingdom.  It will officially hit UK stores on April 30th and the rest of Europe soon after.
