Second Verizon DROID Phone launching Nov 6th also? – DROID Eris by HTC $99

If you don’t already know Verizon DROID is not a phone but a series. According to the latest leaks the DROID Eris by HTC could also launch on Nov 6th with a $99 price tag, after rebates and a new 2-year contract. The Eris will be similar to the HTC Hero which is not comparable in specs to the DROID but will save you $100.

This Android phone will have the same 528MHz Qualcomm processor as other HTC Android models, and will run Android 1.5 (the $199 DROID is shipping with Android 2.0). DROID Eris will have a 5.0 megapixel camera with no flash, but the camera has autofocus. The phone also comes with WiFi. Is Verizon launching two Android phones on the same day?
