Run Apps From the SD Card (Coming Soon)

Save Android apps to SD

One of the few flaws with Android phones is that they only have 256 MB of storage space for apps. Of course if you have rooted your phone you can get around that, but most people don’t want to risk damaging their phone so they’d rather not root it. With all of the great apps available 256 MB unfortunately isn’t nearly enough. Luckily it looks like this issue is going to be addressed.

In a Q & A for the new Nexus phone the issue of the Nexus One only having 512 MB available for apps was brought up:

Q: Why 512MB for app storage only?
A: They store apps in the internal ROM and not on the SD card now, for piracy reasons, but they will offer an upgrade soon for installing apps on the SD card.

It looks like Google is addressing this issue and it will be fixed in an OS update in the future. When I got my Motorola Droid not being able to store apps to the SD card was my only issue. It looks like soon enough I won’t have anything left to complain about…

That’s very nice, but when are we going to have Flash?
Does any one know for sure? Adobe says we could have it around June 2010.
