Motorola MILESTONE is the European version of the Motorola DROID

Staying with the news of new Android phones launching, Motorola Europe has announced the Motorola MILESTONE. The Motorola Milestone is the GSM version of the Verizon DROID. The Milestone will also run Android 2.0 and has been confirmed for Germany and Italy on at least two carriers; Vodafone and O2. The Milestone and DROID should be rather similar except for two distinct differences:

  • The Milestone comes with Multitouch while the CDMA DROID does not.
  • The DROID comes with Turn-by-Turn directions and the Milestone does not. Most Android 2.0 will has this feature, however for the time being it is US maps only, which is why this feature is absent on the Milestone.

The Motorola MILESTONE has support for 900/2100 UMTS/WCDMA and quadband GSM, but other than that, the hardware specs seem to be identical to the Verizon DROID.
