Sony Xperia U unable to scan Wi-Fi

I have been noticing that my Sony Xperia U is unable to scan Wi-Fi in the boardroom during meetings and presentations. I have cross checked with technician and there is no problem in the router. What can be done to fix this problem?

Re: Sony Xperia U unable to scan Wi-Fi

    Hi friend,
You need to factory reset the mobile to solve the sofware issues in your mobile..
    After factory reset,go to Menu-->Settings-->Wireless & Networks-->WiFi Settings-->Turn ON the WiFi-->Scan for the devices
Note that you are within the WiFi range..If the device is not within the range, then your mobile cannot able to detect the WiFi Network..

    Thank you!!!

Steps to scan Wi-Fi Sony Xperia :
If you want to scan Wi-Fi then Double-click the Wireless Switch Settings icon .Then Check the "Enable Bluetooth Device" setting in the Bluetooth Device section.

Then Click to the "OK." and If the device was already enabled, change the wireless LAN from "2.4GHz" to "5GHz" because using the 2.4GHz wireless LAN and the Bluetooth device can make the connection unstable.

Now Click the "Apply" button after the appropriate boxes are checked to activate the Bluetooth signal.

A blue light should come on near the computer's on/off switch for the Wi-Fi radio.

Click "OK." Another dialog box should appear explaining that the Wireless Switch Settings icon should now be in the taskbar.

Then Use this icon if you need to turn off or on the Bluetooth device in the future and click to the scan Wi-Fi Xperia .

This may be issue of range,if WiFi not in range then your device can not scan WiFi.Also if signal is weak then device can not scan for WiFi available network.
Check these things first then activate the WiFi.MENU-WIRELESS & NETWORKS-WIFI SETTINGS-WIFI ACTIVATE-SCAN.Also check the IP address & MAC address. For that once you activate the WiFi then tap on Menu key there will see an option as Advanced Settings, under will find those two things.
If nothing works then better to go service centre there tell your issue. They will definitely solve it.

To connect to WiFi, Following are the settings for the same:
    • From the Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
    • Then go to the Settings-->Wireless&networks-->then WiFi settings.
    • Mark the checkbox correct to the WiFI checkbox.
    • Available networks are displayed on the screen, select the same for use.
    • Then tap a WiFi network to connect to it.If you are trying to secure your WiFI connections then you have to put a password for the same for avoiding the use to others.
    • Then now onwards it connects automatically from the next time you connect.

Actually sometimes it doesn't scan, for this you have to rescan your WiFi networks:
To rescan, follow the below process:
    • Again the same--Tap the application icon from your home screen.
    • Find and tap the Settings-->Wireless&networks-->WI-Fi settings.
    • Press the menu key from that.
    • Then press Scan from the displayed screen.
    • Then the phone scans for Wi-Fi networks and displayed the available networks on the screen displayed to you in a list.
    • Then tap a Wi-Fi network in that available list and then press that to connect it.

These are the topics related to the WiFi network connections, try the above, it will guarantee work.

    Thank you and Be happy..
