AT&T Locks Down Android Phone

AT&T continues to lock down their Android phone, the Motorola Backflip, and it comes as a rather big surprise. Many expected this from Verizon but with the addition of Skype Mobile and the openness of their devices so far, it seems they have gone in the exact opposite direction. AT&T originally stripped out Google Search from the device and it seems to be getting worse.

Some users have reported that they are not able to download apps other than from the Android Market. It also seems that they are not able to remove the preinstalled AT&T apps. So much for opensource…

What do you think about AT&T and Android? There has already been some debate in our forums.
