Android 2.1 Hits the Motorola Milestone
By Admin on May 06, 2010 with 2
Android 2.1 has finally been released to the Motorola Milestone. UK customers can now experience Android 2.1 by downloading it to their PC or wait for the OTA update to roll out. As many of us already know this is a significant update and includes lots of new features. European users will get to explore live wallpapers and navigate up to 9 home screens. Android 2.1 also includes Speech to Text which is something you either use all the time or don’t use at all.
The Motorola Milestone (Droid in the US) was initially supposed to receive Android 2.1 in March but kept getting delayed. This made our UK brethren none too happy and they voiced their displeasure. Thankfully it has arrived but if you are going to download it from a PC be sure to follow instructions carefully.

When you mention “up to 9 home screens,” is that just for certain Motorola phones in the UK? I got the update on my Droid, and don't have that option.
I can't confirm it yet, I was just going by the Facebook update they posted. I know on my Droid (US) I only have 3 home screens.
